Remember to mop as well because this is a way to ensure everything gets picked up from the floors, but it also helps to keep them extra clean.

Lastly, you may want to consider putting a floor mat by each of your doors that lead outside. This will allow the contaminants to remain outside or on the mat rather than all over your floors. 

2. Keep Humidity at a Reasonable Level

Unhealthy things that grow in the home, like mites or mold, really love high levels of moisture. You want to keep your humidity levels around 40% to ensure that they are under control, but also that you are comfortable.

When your air is too dry, it may be because of a lack of humidity. This is why finding the balance is key.

You may want to invest in your own humidifier to help improve the amount of humidity in the air.

3. No Smoking Indoors

One of the biggest indoor air pollutants is cigarette smoke. This smoke has over 7,000 chemicals in it and it can increase a variety of health risks for individuals.

Smoking inside traps all of those pollutants in the air that you breathe within the home, even when you’re not smoking. For this reason, avoid smoking indoors and don’t allow others to do it either.
